Abstract

Radiocarbon dating of the specimen YPM 40001 at the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, previously referred to the Pleistocene horse Equus cf. niobrarensis, determined that the specimenis less than 400 years old. The specimen is reassigned to Equus caballus.
